Animal care. Human standards. Zoonotic-aware.
Veterinary practice cleaning is a hybrid discipline — clinical standards (infection control, surgery, sterile areas) combined with animal-specific risks (zoonotic disease, animal waste, hair, behavioural considerations). Our veterinary practice service is purpose-built for Scottish veterinary surgeries, animal hospitals, equine clinics, and specialist practices.

More than just a tidy-up.
A genuine baseline reset for your home, delivered by people who actually know it.
Veterinary practice cleaning is its own discipline. You have clinical areas (operating theatres, prep rooms, kennels, isolation wards) that need healthcare-grade cleaning — but the pathogens are different (zoonotic diseases that pass between animals and humans, animal-specific bacteria like Pasteurella, Bartonella, Campylobacter, Salmonella). You have animal-specific contamination (hair, dander, faeces, urine, vomit, blood) that needs specialist removal. You have behavioural considerations (animals in the practice — dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, exotics — may be stressed, fearful, or aggressive). And you have RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) practice standards that govern cleanliness. We understand all of this, and we clean accordingly.
Our veterinary practice service covers every area. Reception and waiting area (where animals and owners arrive — needs particular attention to hair, dander, and accidents). Consulting rooms (examination table sanitised between patients, surfaces disinfected, floor cleaned). Operating theatre and prep room (clinical-grade cleaning, sterile field awareness, specific protocols for surgical areas). Kennels and wards (between-patient cleaning, isolation ward protocols, animal waste handling). Diagnostic areas (radiology, ultrasound, in-house lab — specific protocols). Mortuary and post-mortem areas (specific infection control). Pharmacy and dispensing area (clean to pharmacy standards). Staff areas (kitchen, staff room, offices). External areas (dog walking area, bin store for clinical waste).
What sets us apart is zoonotic awareness. Zoonotic diseases (passed between animals and humans) are a real risk in veterinary practice — ringworm, toxocariasis, toxoplasmosis, cat scratch disease, salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis, leptospirosis, Q fever, orf, MRSA (yes, animals get MRSA too). Our staff are trained in zoonotic disease awareness and prevention: correct PPE, hand hygiene, surface disinfection, animal waste handling, sharps handling (veterinary sharps are similar to medical sharps but with animal-specific risks). We use veterinary-specific disinfectants (some medical disinfectants don't work on animal pathogens — and vice versa). Our staff are PVG-checked, comfortable around animals (essential — a fearful cleaner upsets the animals and creates risk), and trained in animal handling basics (when to approach, when to back off, when to call for veterinary staff).
Every visit, room by room.
A baseline reset of your home's high-traffic zones — refined after the first three cleans to match your priorities.
Reception & waiting area — animal-aware
Reception and waiting area cleaned with animal-aware protocols. Floors swept and mopped (hair, dander, outdoor debris — needs particular attention). Seating plumped and lint-rolled (pet hair on seating is a major complaint). Reception desk wiped (often touched by owners and by animals on the desk). Glazing cleaned (nose prints from dogs and cats are a feature). Signage cleaned. Bins emptied (including the 'accident bin' — paper towel and disinfectant for accidents in the waiting area). Air freshener (subtle — strong perfumes upset animals). We're careful with cleaning products around animals in the waiting area (we don't spray near animals, we use low-odour products).
Consulting rooms — between-patient sanitisation
Consulting rooms cleaned to between-patient protocols. Examination table sanitised (veterinary disinfectant — kills animal pathogens). Surfaces (trolleys, scales, computers, lights) disinfected. Floor swept and mopped (hair, dander, any waste). Sink and taps cleaned (often used for hand washing between patients). Drawer and cabinet fronts wiped. Sharps bin checked (veterinary sharps — needles, scalpel blades). Any animal waste (faeces, urine, vomit, blood) cleaned with biohazard protocol. We can provide between-patient cleaning during opening hours (a dedicated cleaner on-site) or after-hours cleaning — your choice.
Operating theatre & prep room — clinical grade
Operating theatre and prep room cleaned to clinical-grade standards. Theatre: table disinfected (veterinary disinfectant), instruments tray wiped, anaesthetic equipment wiped (exterior only — we don't touch sterile equipment), surfaces disinfected, floors deep-scrubbed, theatre ready for next procedure. Prep room: prep surfaces disinfected, anaesthetic machine wiped, scrub sink cleaned, instrument washing area cleaned, floors. We follow your theatre protocols absolutely (every practice has its own). Specialist theatre team only — these aren't jobs for general cleaners. We're sterile field aware, we don't touch sterile equipment, we don't move anaesthetic equipment.
Kennels, wards & isolation — biosecurity
Kennels, wards, and isolation cleaned to biosecurity protocols. Between-patient clean (after each animal discharged): kennel floor, walls, and door disinfected; bedding removed and laundered (or disposed of if contaminated); food and water bowls removed, washed, and disinfected; litter tray (for cats) cleaned and disinfected. Isolation ward: strict protocols — dedicated equipment (no cross-contamination to other areas), full PPE, specific disinfectant for the pathogen in question (parvovirus, feline leukaemia, etc. — each needs different products). Animal waste: biohazard disposal (clinical waste stream — we have the right waste carrier licence).
Diagnostic, pharmacy & mortuary areas
Diagnostic areas: radiology (X-ray equipment wiped — careful with calibrations; lead aprons wiped; floors), ultrasound (probe cleaned with specialist product — we don't touch the probe itself but we clean the machine exterior; gel wiped), in-house lab (surfaces disinfected, equipment wiped, floors). Pharmacy and dispensing area: cleaned to pharmacy standards (surfaces disinfected, shelves dusted, fridge cleaned, floors). Mortuary and post-mortem areas: specific infection control protocols (deep clean after each post-mortem; biohazard waste disposal; full PPE). Each area has its own protocols — we follow them absolutely.
Zoonotic-aware, animal-comfortable, RCVS-compliant
Our staff are zoonotic-aware (trained in animal disease transmission, correct PPE, surface disinfection, animal waste handling). They're animal-comfortable (essential — a fearful cleaner upsets the animals and creates risk; our staff are calm, gentle, and they know when to approach and when to back off). They're trained in animal handling basics (when to call for veterinary staff, how to read animal body language). They're RCVS-compliant (we work to RCVS Practice Standards Scheme requirements for cleanliness). PVG-checked. We carry £5m public liability. We use veterinary-specific disinfectants (some medical disinfectants don't work on animal pathogens). We're experienced with small animal, large animal, equine, exotic, and mixed practices.
Add-ons available on any visit: oven cleaning, fridge clean-out, inside cabinets, laundry folding, ironing, pet area sanitisation, window interiors, and more — all bookable from your client portal.
