Electrostatic disinfection is a different discipline from standard cleaning. A standard clean removes visible dirt and most microorganisms from the surfaces you wipe. Electrostatic disinfection goes further — it charges each disinfectant droplet as it leaves the spray nozzle, so the droplets are attracted to surfaces (front, back, underside, all sides) and wrap around them. The result is disinfection of complex shapes that hand-wiping can't reach — the underside of a chair, the back of a door handle, the gap behind a keyboard.
The chemistry matters as much as the technology. We use HSE-approved disinfectants that are EN 14476 virucidal (proven effective against enveloped viruses including flu, COVID-19, and norovirus), EN 1276 bactericidal (proven against 99.999% of bacteria including MRSA, E. coli, Salmonella), and EN 1650 fungicidal. The disinfectant has a 5-minute contact time, after which it dries to a food-safe residue that doesn't need wiping. The chemistry is non-irritant, low-VOC, and safe for use in kitchens, nurseries, and around pets once dry.
The add-on is most commonly booked after a deep clean (so we're not disinfecting over dirt, which inactivates the chemistry) or as an outbreak response (when someone in the household has had flu, norovirus, or COVID-19). It's also valuable for high-risk households — immunocompromised family members, newborns, elderly relatives — where the cost of an infection is much higher than the cost of prevention. We can treat a full 4-bed house in 60-90 minutes, with a 5-minute contact time and a 30-minute re-entry window.

Room-by-room electrostatic spray
Charged disinfectant sprayed using a Clorox TruShot or Victory Innovations electrostatic sprayer. Each droplet is positively charged, attracted to negatively-charged surfaces, and wraps around 360°. Soft furnishings, hard surfaces, touchpoints, equipment — all treated in a single pass.
Touchpoint hand-wipe
After spraying, the highest-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, remote controls, phone handsets, banisters, taps) get a hand-wipe with the same disinfectant on a microfibre cloth. Belt-and-braces for the surfaces that account for 80% of cross-contamination.
Soft furnishing treatment
Soft furnishings (sofas, curtains, bedding, cushions, rugs) treated with the electrostatic spray. The chemistry is fabric-safe and dries without residue. Doesn't replace laundering — but does reduce the viral load on items that can't be easily washed between illnesses.
Kitchen & bathroom sanitisation
Kitchen worktops, sink, tap handles, fridge handle, oven handle, microwave buttons, dishwasher buttons — all electrostatically treated. Bathroom sink, toilet flush, tap handles, door handle, light switch, mirror frame — same. 5-minute contact time, no rinse required.
