Light fixture cleaning is one of the most under-rated cleaning tasks in the home. A chandelier with dust on every crystal, fly spots on the frame, and cobwebs in the chain absorbs up to 40% of the light it should emit — the room looks dim and the fixture looks dingy. A clean chandelier is dramatically brighter, the crystals catch the light properly, and the whole room feels different. The same applies to pendant lights over kitchen islands (grease build-up), lampshades (dust blocks light), and wall lights (cobwebs and dead flies).

We clean every type of light fixture: crystal and glass chandeliers (crystal-by-crystal with a soft cloth and gentle detergent), pendant lights (glass, metal, fabric shades), lampshades (fabric, paper, glass — each different), wall lights (sconces, picture lights, uplighters), downlights and recessed fittings (fly spots and grease), ceiling fans (blade tops and bottoms, light kit), and exterior lights (porch lights, security lights, garden lights). Every fixture is detailed in place — we don't remove from the ceiling.

Electrical safety is non-negotiable. Every fixture is switched off at the wall before cleaning. Where possible, we isolate at the consumer unit (fuse box) for chandeliers and multi-bulb fixtures. We never spray liquid directly onto a fitting — we apply to a cloth and wipe. We don't submerge bulbs or lamp holders. For high chandeliers, we use a stable step ladder with a second person footing — never a chair or stool. Our technicians are IPAF-trained for very high chandelier work (above 3 metres).
