We bring PAT-tested lifting straps (rated to 600kg per pair), felt-backed furniture sliders (for hardwood and laminate), rubber-capped dollies (for carpeted surfaces), floor protection (corrugated card and breathable felt), and corner protectors for doorframes. Every move is risk-assessed — we won't move items we can't safely handle (full slate snooker tables, grand pianos, loaded solid oak wardrobes with original castors) without a specialist referral.
The add-on is bookable as part of a deep clean, end-of-tenancy clean, post-construction clean, or as a one-off. Many clients book it once a year as part of a spring clean — pull everything out, clean behind, swap the room layout, put everything back. The result is dramatically different from a standard clean. Furniture moving is two-person work — solo lifting causes injuries and damages floors. Our add-on always includes a second crew member trained in safe lifting techniques. Manual handling trained, IOSH certified.
PAT-tested lifting straps
Forearm lifting straps rated to 600kg per pair. Distributes weight across the lifters' forearms rather than their backs. Used for sofas, wardrobes, beds, chests of drawers, and heavy appliances. Safer for the crew, safer for the furniture.
Felt-backed furniture sliders
Soft felt sliders for hardwood and laminate (slide without scratching). Rubber-capped dollies for carpeted surfaces (roll without snagging). Used for everything we don't lift — bookcases, sideboards, display cabinets. Floor protection always in place.
Floor & wall protection
Corrugated card paths on high-traffic routes during the move. Breathable felt under furniture placed temporarily on carpets (avoids compression marks). Corner protectors on doorframes. Picture frames and mirrors removed from walls in the route.
Clean under & behind
Once furniture is moved, we deep-clean the exposed floor and walls. HEPA vacuum for dust and debris, then damp mop or carpet-clean as appropriate. Skirting boards behind furniture wiped. Cobwebs removed. This is the point of moving the furniture.
Replace & reset
Furniture replaced in the original position (or new position if you've requested a room re-layout). Felt furniture pads applied to the feet of items that didn't have them — prevents future floor marking. Room left ready to use.

On arrival, the crew assesses each item to be moved — weight, fragility, route, floor surface, obstacles. Items we can't safely handle are flagged for specialist referral. Manual handling plan agreed.
Protection in place
Floor protection laid on high-traffic routes. Doorframe corners protected. Pictures and mirrors in the route removed and safely stored. Door wedges in place. Lifting straps and sliders ready.
Move, clean, replace
Items moved one at a time. Floor and walls behind cleaned (HEPA vacuum then damp mop/carpet clean as appropriate). Item replaced in original or new position. Felt pads applied to feet if not present.
Reset & handover
Protection removed, room reset, pictures re-hung, before/after photos of the previously-hidden zones uploaded to your portal. Any floor damage (pre-existing) flagged for your attention.
