Cross-infection control is non-negotiable. Neither are we.
Dental surgeries are the highest-cross-infection-risk environment outside of a hospital theatre. Aerosol-generating procedures, blood-borne pathogen exposure, instrument decontamination, and immunocompromised patients all combine to require a cleaning protocol that goes far beyond general medical or commercial cleaning. Our dental surgery service follows HTM 01-05 (Health Technical Memorandum 01-05: Decontamination in primary care dental practices) — surgery clean between patients, end-of-day terminal clean, weekly deep clean, and full decontamination room protocol. GDP-compliant documentation, blood-borne pathogen-trained operatives, £5m liability.

More than just a tidy-up.
A genuine baseline reset for your home, delivered by people who actually know it.
Dental surgeries sit at a unique intersection of clinical risk and patient experience. From the clinical side: aerosol-generating procedures (drilling, scaling) create blood-and-saliva aerosols that settle on every surface; blood-borne pathogen exposure (HIV, Hepatitis B and C) is a daily risk; instrument decontamination requires a separate room with washer-disinfector and sterilizer; immunocompromised patients are common. From the patient side: a dental visit is anxiety-inducing, and visible dirt or a smell of stale clinical chemistry makes it worse. The cleaning protocol must satisfy both — HTM 01-05 compliance for clinical safety, plus presentation standards for patient confidence. This is not general commercial cleaning. It's a specialist discipline.
Our dental surgery service follows HTM 01-05 (Health Technical Memorandum 01-05: Decontamination in primary care dental practices — the regulatory standard for Scottish dental practices, enforced by NHS National Services Scotland). The protocol has four layers. First, surgery clean between patients: chair, light, spittoon, worktops, and touch-points wiped with a hospital-grade disinfectant between every patient. Second, end-of-day terminal clean: full surgery strip-down, floor clean, all touch-points disinfected, suction lines flushed, decontamination room cleaned. Third, weekly deep clean: underneath and behind the chair, all drawers and cupboards, deep floor degrease, extractor fan, light fittings. Fourth, decontamination room protocol: washer-disinfector and sterilizer exteriors, worktops, sinks, separate chemistry and equipment from the surgery.
We work with NHS dental practices, private practices, specialist orthodontic and oral surgery clinics, and dental school outreach facilities across Scotland. All operatives are blood-borne pathogen-trained (HIV, Hepatitis B and C), vaccinated (Hepatitis B), and trained in HTM 01-05 protocols. We carry £5m public liability, full employer's liability, and we name your practice on our policy as additional insured. GDP (General Dental Council) and Care Inspectorate (for mixed-use practices) documentation provided. We have worked with dental practices for 8 years and have never had a cross-infection incident attributed to our cleaning.
Every visit, room by room.
A baseline reset of your home's high-traffic zones — refined after the first three cleans to match your priorities.
Surgery clean between patients (HTM 01-05)
Chair (headrest, backrest, armrests, base), operating light (handle, housing), spittoon and suction inlet, worktops, drawer handles, and all touch-points wiped with a hospital-grade disinfectant (typically a quaternary-ammonium or chlorine-releasing chemistry) between every patient. 2-3 minute turnaround. Critical for cross-infection control — the surgery is the highest-risk zone in any dental practice.
End-of-day terminal clean
Full surgery strip-down at end of trading: chair fully cleaned (including underneath and behind), operating light detailed, all worktops disinfected, drawer fronts and handles disinfected, floor swept and mopped with hospital-grade chemistry, suction lines flushed with line cleaner, decontamination room cleaned. 60-90 minutes per surgery. The surgery is reset to 'next patient ready' standard for the following morning.
Weekly deep clean
Weekly deep clean scheduled for the slowest trading day: underneath and behind the chair (full access), all drawers and cupboards emptied and cleaned, deep floor degrease (rotary scrubber-drier), extractor fan vacuumed and wiped, light fittings detailed, radiology equipment cleaned (with manufacturer-approved chemistry), all touch-points disinfected. 2-3 hours per surgery.
Decontamination room protocol
Decontamination room cleaned with separate chemistry and equipment from the surgery (no cross-contamination). Washer-disinfector and sterilizer exteriors wiped, worktops disinfected, sinks cleaned, hand-wash basin detailed, storage cupboards wiped, floor mopped with hospital-grade chemistry. Critical for instrument decontamination integrity — HTM 01-05 requires the decontamination room to be cleaned to a higher standard than the surgery.
Patient-facing presentation
Reception, waiting area, patient WC, and corridors presented to a hospitality standard. Magazines tidied, chairs aligned, floor vacuumed and mopped, glass doors and partitions polished, reception desk disinfected, patient WC deep-cleaned. A dental visit is anxiety-inducing — visible dirt or a smell of stale clinical chemistry makes it worse. Patient-facing areas must look immaculate, not just clean.
GDP & Care Inspectorate documentation
Every clean documented with a timestamped checklist: task, time, chemistry used, operative name, surgery counter-signed. Cleaning schedule, COSHH data sheets, HTM 01-05 protocol documentation, blood-borne pathogen training certificates, Hepatitis B vaccination records, £5m public liability. Suitable for GDP, Care Inspectorate, and NHS NSS inspection defence. We provide a structured inspection prep session before your inspection date.
Add-ons available on any visit: oven cleaning, fridge clean-out, inside cabinets, laundry folding, ironing, pet area sanitisation, window interiors, and more — all bookable from your client portal.
